  • June 19, 2012 New treatment: Copper blackening

    Electrum offers a new treatment Copper blackening as per MIL-F-495 that produce cupric oxide coating on copper and copper alloys containing 65% or more of copper. The finish itself will withstand temperatures up to about 400° F. and will give a satin finish.

    This type of treatment is used in optical and aerospace applications for light rejection and other optical properties.

    Electrum continually strives to offer its clients the best services, care and products. Our latest effort in this regard has been to reach certification stage in the Controlled Goods Directorate. Such certification is intended to simplify the material transfer process between our facilities and our customers. This federal program is designed to regulate access, possession and transfer of controlled goods by registration, prevention, deterrence and detection. The CGD is legislated by the Defence Production Act (DPA).
